Forbes: Milwaukee area one of the Top 20 places in U.S. to educate children
According to a December 12, 2007 story on Forbes.com the Milwaukee area is No. 17 with respect to the best places to educate your child in the United States. Forbes had this to say about the Milwaukee area:
Once known as simply a brewing and manufacturing powerhouse, Milwaukee has truly expanded its image by offering the best in education. The populous city and its surrounding areas host 294,438 K-12 students, an impressive 18% of which attend one of Milwaukee's exceptional private schools.
Forbes based its ranking on the following five factors: School Support, Private School Options, Library Popularity, College Town, and College Options. The following list gives the grades that the Milwaukee area earned for each area:
