Chicago Tribune story provides in-depth look at Milwaukee's work to improving the inner-city
In the wake of Hurricane Katrina and the national attention that was generated with respect to African-Americans living in New Orleans, the Chicago Tribune initiated a series of in-depth stories to look at how Midwestern cities are working to improve the lives of inner-city citizens.

Compared with other Midwestern cities Milwaukee is taking a “different,” more innovative, approach at assisting the city’s poorest citizens. To gain a better perspective on the work taking place in Milwaukee, you are strongly encouraged to read the two previous stories about Detroit and Rockford.
