Milwaukee area cities among the Best in US
After studying more than 1,300 cities across the United States, Money magazine and CNN/Money announced in July 2005 the "Best Place to Live 2005."
Two communities within the Milwaukee region were recognized as being one of the 100 finalists. Thiensville was ranked #19 while Kenosha was #94. Other Milwaukee region communities that were recognized by Money magazine as being "contenders" included Brookfield, Cedarburg,
Franklin, Germantown, Hartland, Milwaukee, Mukwonago, Muskego, New Berlin, Oak Creek, Oconomowoc, Pewaukee, Racine, Sussex and Waukesha.
An interesting note is that of the 23 cities that were recognized by Money magazine as finalists or contenders from the state of Wisconsin 17 are from the Milwaukee region.
Another interesting aside is that there are more finalists within just the Milwaukee region than the entire amount of finalists in a number of states including: Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Nevada, New Mexico, South Carolina and Tennessee.
